It's the Weekend!
So I think I tempted fate when I posted 'what will the weekend bring?' as yesterday turned into a bit of an adventure! H and I got very lost on the buses in Kirchberg, we were trying to get to the cinema in Limpetsberg, then ended up walking for about half an hour trying to find the other cinema (neither of us have a great sense of direction when it comes to buses!!) After finding the cinema, realising there were no films on and eating a McDonalds we headed back to town to chill out with some seriously tasty Kir Royals at the Octave festival. Lovely chilled day! Then back to the house for me, sent the LE's out for a date night and chilled with 'Some Like it Hot' and an individual bottle of Crement. Absolute bliss. I also made tomato and lentil curry with chapattis, which I haven't made for ages and had forgotten how much I loved it. I think the last time I made it was in my wonderful kitchen in the Lake District, with my view of the Fairfield Horse Shoe out of the huge sash windows, and my friend S had brought round an attractive straggler she'd found for some dinner. Man I miss those days!
Today started very abruptly when the male twin burst into my room at horrible o'clock, jumped on my bed and shouted 'it's my birthday!!!' a very rude awakening, but as I stumbled into LE's bedroom to open presents with them I was greeted by a large cup of tea!
Church was a welcome break this morning, and as it was the first Sunday of the month there were worship songs instead of the usual hymns. The twins party took up most of the afternoon and I think that sleep won't be far off this evening.
I'll post the curry recipe at some point, it's really delicious. It's also the perfect thing to cook if there's just you eating. I realised yesterday that I hadn't properly cooked just for me for over 2 years. It was a very strange realisation! I'm looking forward to cooking just for me again.
