What a busy few days!

Lots has happened the last few days! And lots of photos have been taken!

Thursday we had live music from La Philharmonie in the Knuedler which was wonderful!

Friday was the Grand Duke's birthday which involved a lot of alcohol and fireworks and dancing and other loveliness!

Saturday was a recovery day in Belgium.

Sunday was Rock-a-Field! Flipping fantastic! Lovely Scottish Man (LSM) and I went and saw Lost Prophets (I've wanted to see them for years!!) Biffy Clyro (Another band I've wanted to see for years, and they opened with my favourite song Mountains), Two Door Cinema Club and Mumford and Sons!!! So there's a bit of a story behind how I ended up at Rock-a-Field with LSM, the first time we met for coffee he mentioned he had a spare ticket to go and see Mumford and Sons and wondered if I wanted to go with him. Fast forward a month and a bit and we're a long way from our first coffee meeting as friends watching Mumford and Sons. It's amazing how much can change with a month and a bit!

So here are a few pictures from the past few days, enjoy!

This guy is 13 years old and is the best music student in Luxembourg, and he was fantastic!

Moet in the sunshine!

No idea how these guys did it but they were great!

Before we looked like drowned rats!

Ian Watkins how I love you!!

Biffy Clyro were brilliant!

Mumford and Sons were incredible!

All in all a brilliant few days!

Love is...

... being packed a care package of your favourite sweets and biscuits :)

On a less soppy note I made a seriously yummy tomato and cucumber salad the other night. It was very Greece inspired. Masses of olive oil (sadly Italian not lovely salty dark Greek olive oil) masses of thyme and just the right amount of salt. The smell of the thyme sent me right back to my September on Crete and to the first night I was there, I had a very similar salad, to accompany my 'small fried fishes' I do love Greek food. I miss it actually. The food. not the time I was there. Not that the time I was there wasn't lovely. It's just the food (and weather) I miss at the moment. Anyway, I was at Lovely Scottish Man's house and forgot to take a picture of the salad before eating it (I had had a fair amount of vin rouge by that point as well) so any way, to make this salad you need half a cucumber, 2 big tomatoes a really good glug or two of olive oil, fresh thyme, about a small handful, and some sea salt to add to your taste (I feel able to add salt to things as I don't eat processed food and am in full control of my salt intake). So you need to plan a bit ahead with this salad as it tastes better the longer you let the flavours mix together. All you have to do is mix all the ingredients together and leave it to get all delicious. I served it with pork kebabs and green beans dressed in olive oil, lemon and salt. It was delicious!

Here's a picture of the original tomato and cucumber salad. Sorry the photo's not focused on the salad. The meal would have definitely worked with Createan wine (lovely wine that's a bit like sherry and ever so alcoholic) but we had a seriously yummy rijoca instead.

Sorry I've been so bad!

I don't even remember the last blog post. Which isn't a good thing! Lot's has happened. I think I've taken around 600 pictures in the past week, bands are great fun to photograph, as are reluctant boyfriends and beautiful French cities. And, of course, lovely Luxembourg. Here are some of the highlights from the past week or so :)
